Eastertide and Pentecost have come and past, and we have entered a period in the liturgical season known as Ordinary Time. We all know what Ordinary Time is, but how can we apply Cor during this time?

 According to the USCCB, “Ordinary Time is a time for growth and maturation, a time in which the mystery of Christ is called to penetrate ever more deeply into history until all things are finally caught up in Christ. The goal, toward which all of history is directed, is represented by the final Sunday in Ordinary Time, the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe.” This period outlines the mission of Cor perfectly.

Cor’s mission, as discussed, is building missionary disciples and helping men know Christ more fully. How better to get to know Christ fully than to learn about his life. Not just learning about it but really diving into it.

My challenge to each of you during this second liturgical season of Ordinary Time, as we prepare for Advent and Christmastide, is to do your best to make Cor work in your council. I look forward to working with all of you over the next Fraternal Year.
