The Foundational Message of Cor
Blessed Eastertide!
Alleluia! Christ has Risen! Alleluia!
As we enter this period of the liturgical year, we must truly reflect on the Resurrection of our Lord. During this time, we celebrate a 50-day period from Easter to the feast of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descends on the Apostles. Eastertide is a tremendous time to begin running Cor in your council.
But why?
The foundational message of Cor is building missionary disciples and increasing faith. Much like the Apostles of being gifted with the Holy Spirit, “…enabled them to proclaim” (Acts 2:4). Cor’s mission is to refocus Catholic men and to center themselves on Christ, additionally forming them in faith and virtue. In order for us to truly live our mandate of bringing Christ and his Gospel into a broken world, we need a strong relationship with God, formed in faith and sharpened with prayer and the sacraments. Cor is an amazing way for you to get closer to Christ, but it’s also an opportunity for you to share your increasing faith with your Brother Knights. To quote the Book of Proverbs 27:17, “Iron is sharpened by iron, one person sharpens another”.
We are charged to “be then such men”. I charge you, as a Brother Knight, to look to strengthen your faith and to rededicate yourself to Christ. Introduce Cor to your councils, invite the EFF Team to your Council. Reach out if you need any support.
Benedicat tibi Deus (May God bless you)
