Event Description

Penguin Plunge for Special Olympics NH (Hampton Beach)

When: Typically held early February (the 2026 event took place Feb 7–8, though the ocean dip portion was famously called off due to sub-zero wind chills).
Where: Hampton Beach (Check-in at Ashworth by the Sea Hotel; events at the Hampton Casino Ballroom).
Details: The state's largest winter charity fundraiser. Features costume parades, high school team plunges, and post-plunge celebrations to benefit year-round sports training for athletes with intellectual disabilities.

Opening Ceremonials
The NH Knights of Columbus assist in the opening of the NH Special Olympics Summer games. Fourth Degree members provide an Honor Guard for the participants.

Higher Purpose:

Celebrate the worth and dignity of every human being through the Special Olympics. Knights of Columbus councils can work with Special Olympics affiliates to determine how best to fund, sponsor or volunteer for events in the local community.
