<p>Red Cross Blood Drive </p>
<p>St. Joseph Council 6850 in association with the American Red Cross conducted a blood drive at our parish. Knights volunteered to do the day of the event registration and cover the canteen services. Our Council provided the donors with pizza after donated as well as drinks and snacks. </p>
<p>The event collected approximately 26 units of blood/blood products that day to support numerous persons in need. </p>

<p>Mission: To lay a wreath on a Veterans grave to Remember, Honor and Teach on National Wreath's Across America Day </p>
<p>Chair: Ronald Metivier and John Knorr</p>
<p>St. Joseph Council 6850 and Assembly 2644 conducted a Wreath's Across America Ceremony for our veterans at our church cemetery. We held a fund raiser to collect money for the purchase of wreaths and was very well received. We asked our local American Legion Post 51 to join us. They provided the Color Guard, firing squad and taps. Fr. David Gagnon lead us in prayer and blessed the wreaths. The American Legion presented the colors and lead the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. We then placed a large wreath on our biggest hero! Jesus on the Cross, as a symbol of our Love for Him. </p>
<p>At this time Sir Knights placed wreaths on all the Military Service Flags to honor all our service men now serving. We dedicated our first Wreath's Across America to Captain John Jean who served for 13 months in Vietnam, then came home and was killed in an auto accident. His large family of 13 was very strong force at our church. We called on the American Legion for dedication of our brave veterans with the firing squad and taps. Fr. David led us in a closing prayer. </p>
<p>At this time everyone placed a wreath on a Veterans grave by calling out their names and either saluting or given the sign of the cross for each. This concluded our service. </p>
<p>We had about 50 persons in attendance with very positive feedback. The mission, To Remember, Honor and Teach was accomplished by all in attendance. A youth high school basketball team from our town participated and served as another aspect of the teaching mission. We recognized 160 veterans with a wreath that day. </p>

<p>Every year starting with the first Friday of Lent, Council 3023 conducts Fish Fry's for St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Derry NH. It is our major fund raiser we hold yearly.Planning takes many hours and several thousand dollars of upfront cost for planning. On Fridays it is all hands on deck with at least 30 Knights present to make the night flow efficiently. Preparation begins several day prior to each Friday night. On the Friday the Meals services begins at 5 PM and ends at 7 PM. During this time we sell anywhere from 300 meals to over 400. We average in the mid 300's.We sell traditional fish fry with fried haddock and french fries. Cole Slaw, tartar sauce and rolls. In addition we have added Fish Chowder as an additional item.Over all we take in over $35,000 and net in the area of $15000. As important as the fund raising it is a great time of fellowship for the parishioners. While the meal service is two hours many parishioners hang around for a long time to talk. We also allow the Tabernacle to pies for their fundraiser as well as Girl Scouts selling their yearly cookies. We also tend to recruit new Knights from these events. It is great bonding for all council members and a lot of fun for all.</p> |

<p>Everyone involved benefited - whether they were knights, volunteers, or people with disabilities. All of the monies raised were donated to organizations that support people with intellectual disabilities such as Special Olympics, Dancing Among the Stars Theather Group, Kimi Nichols Center, and Bridging the Horizons</p>
<p>1, Monies raiised and donated to the organizations mentioned help offset costs and support their yearly budget. When knights and volunteers wear the Tootsie Roll Drive aprons they are emphasizing a greater awareness to those in need and challenging stigma related to having such as condition such as down's syndrome.</p>

<p>We held our 23rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament on August 15th, 2025. We had 142 total Golfers participate. This was our record-breaking golf tournament, the best in the history of our Golf tournaments. We raised over $ 23,000,000. The rest of the money went to other charities supported by St. Maximillian Kolbe Council #9058.</p>
<p>This was the 1st year that we had the Atkinson and Hampstead Firemen's Associations as our primary charities. The picture was taken at the Atkinson Fire Department at their 79th Annual Turkey Raffle on November 15th.</p>
<p>St. Maximillian Kolbe Council #9058 presented our $10,000 donation to both the Atkinson and Hampstead Fireman's Associations to be put <strong>toward Life-Saving Equipment</strong>, in front of 400 people from the surrounding towns. Both Towns received $5,000 each. It was a complete success! We received tremendous applause during and after the presentation. Both Fireman's Associations were extremely grateful. </p>
